By 11, most kids have been on Roblox for years and are pushing for more independence — bigger, more competitive games, more active trading, and more say over their own settings. It’s a good age to shift from pure restriction toward teaching judgment.
What Changes at Age 11
An 11-year-old’s account still falls under Roblox Select (ages 9-15), with access to Minimal, Mild, and Moderate maturity content, but this is the age where the practical risks shift from "what content will they see" toward "who will they talk to and what will they spend." Voice chat is not available at this age — Roblox’s spatial voice requires age verification as 13 or older.
Popular Games at Age 11
- ✓Blox Fruits — combat RPG, popular and grind-heavy, worth pairing with screen time limits
- ✓Fisch — relaxed fishing/adventure game, generally low-risk
- ✓Steal a Brainrot — meme-driven hit; worth checking in on the chat and spending pressure
- ✓Murder Mystery 2 — social deduction with active trading; a good one to discuss trading rules around
- ✓Blade Ball — fast, reflex-based competitive game, cosmetics-focused spending
The Real Risks at This Age
Trading and limited items start to matter more at 11, as does group membership and the pull toward outside Discord servers tied to a favorite game. Peer pressure around spending and status (rare items, "clout") tends to be stronger than it was at 8 or 9. This is a good age to start teaching your child to evaluate a request or offer themselves, rather than only relying on settings to block everything.
Recommended Settings for Age 11
- ✓Account type: Roblox Select (ages 9-15)
- ✓Chat: Friends Only, with a real conversation about who counts as a "friend" worth accepting
- ✓Trading: Only with people they know in real life, never trading first
- ✓Spending: A set monthly allowance with a hard spend limit on the account
- ✓Screen time: Roughly 1-1.5 hours on school days as a starting point, adjusted to your family
