My Child Is Being Bullied on Roblox: What to Do

Bullying on Roblox doesn’t always look like bullying you’d recognize from a playground — it can be exclusion from a group, repeated harassment in chat, or a pile-on in a game your child used to love. Here’s how to spot it and what to actually do about it.

Signs Your Child May Be Being Bullied on Roblox

• ✓Sudden reluctance to play a game they used to love, with no clear explanation.
• ✓Visible upset — quiet, withdrawn, or irritable — right after playing.
• ✓Mentions of being "kicked," excluded from a group or party, or left out on purpose.
• ✓Wanting to change their username, avatar, or leave a group abruptly.

What to Do Right Away

• ✓Stay calm — your reaction shapes whether your child tells you the next time something happens.
• ✓Get specifics: which game, which player or players, and what was said or done.
• ✓Take a screenshot if the behavior is still on screen — it helps if you need to report it.
• ✓Block the player(s) involved so they can’t contact your child again.
• ✓Use Roblox’s in-app report tool to report the player or the specific message.

When to Escalate Further

Report repeated or severe harassment to Roblox directly through its trust and safety reporting tools, especially anything involving threats, targeted hate, or a pattern across multiple sessions. If the bullying involves someone your child knows from school, it’s worth looping in the school as well. If it ever includes real-world threats or identifying information being shared, treat it as a safety issue and involve local authorities.

Helping Your Child Process It

Validate what they’re feeling rather than minimizing it — "that sounds really frustrating" goes further than "just ignore it." Reassure them it isn’t their fault. Then decide together, calmly, whether they want to keep playing that particular game or group, step away from it for a while, or try again with tighter settings.
