One of the more convincing Roblox scams doesn’t promise free Robux at all — it pretends to be an urgent message from Roblox itself, warning that an account is about to be banned, locked, or deleted unless the child acts immediately. Here’s how to recognize it.
How the Scam Works
A message arrives — through Roblox chat, a game’s in-world chat, or an email designed to look official — claiming to be from "Roblox Support" or "Roblox Security." It warns that the account has been flagged for a violation and will be suspended or permanently deleted unless the child "verifies" their account right away, usually by clicking a link and entering their username and password on a fake login page that looks like Roblox’s real one.
Why It Works So Well
- ✓It creates urgency and fear — the threat of losing years of progress, items, and friends pushes kids to act fast instead of thinking it through.
- ✓It borrows real Roblox branding, logos, and language to look official at a glance.
- ✓It targets a believable fear: kids already know accounts can be banned for breaking rules, so the premise feels plausible.
The One Fact That Gives It Away
Roblox will never ask for your password through a chat message, a link, or an email. That’s true of essentially every legitimate platform, not just Roblox — any message asking you to "log in to verify" through a link, rather than by going to the real site or app directly, is the scam.
Other Red Flags to Teach Your Child
- ✓A real sense of urgency or a countdown ("act within 24 hours or lose your account forever").
- ✓A link that doesn’t go to roblox.com when you actually look at it closely.
- ✓Messages that arrive through in-game chat or a random player, rather than through Roblox’s own official notification system.
- ✓Requests to "confirm" an account by entering a password on a page reached through a link rather than typed in directly.
What to Do If Your Child Gets One
- ✓Don’t click the link — close the message.
- ✓Report the player or message using Roblox’s in-app report tool.
- ✓If a password was already entered on a suspicious page, change it immediately and turn on 2-step verification.
- ✓Remind your child that real account issues show up inside the Roblox app or official email from Roblox — never through a stranger’s chat message.
The simplest rule to teach: nobody legitimate ever needs your Roblox password to "verify," "restore," or "save" your account. That request is always the scam.
